Introducing the new John Deere L-Series backhoes, an upgrade from their respected K-Series predecessors. With six unique models, each designed for efficiency, productivity, and to meet current emission regulations, they’re the perfect solution for a range of tasks.
Enhanced Tier 4 Engines
The L-Series backhoes boast efficient Tier 4 engines. Models 310L, 310SL, 310SL HL, 315SL, and 410L are equipped with a rugged Tier 4 Final/EU Stage IV PowerTech Plus diesel engine, delivering power levels from 93 to 113 hp. The 310L EP model features a certified Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB John Deere PowerTech engine with 70 hp.
Smooth Transmission
Models 310SL, 310SL HL, 315SL, and 410L feature a five-speed PowerShift transmission for smooth, clutchless gear changes, allowing speeds up to 25 mph. The Autoshift option is designed for fuel efficiency, automatically selecting the best gear for the given load.
Superior Lifting Capacity
A standout in the lineup, the 310SL HL heavy-lift backhoe, designed based on customer feedback, significantly enhances craning capability. Along with the 410L, this model can deliver up to 25% more backhoe-lift capacity than comparable K-Series models under normal conditions. The innovative Lift Mode feature boosts this further by 10 to 15% at the push of a button.
Operator Comfort
Comfort of operation is a key feature of the L-Series backhoes. The redesigned cab provides extra legroom and a comfortable seat, making the transition between loader and backhoe operation easier. The pilot towers feature fingertip electrohydraulic controls for effortless operation, and a multifunction lever controls turn signals, wipers, and lights, much like a car or truck. These features, along with the new “palm-on-top” loader-control grip, help operators maintain their line of sight to the front of the machine during loader operation.
Improved Diagnostics and Control
The L-Series backhoes feature improved diagnostics with a state-of-the-art multi-language monitor. Operators can program a multitude of time-specific functions such as auto shutdown and auto idle.
Additional Creature Comforts
These backhoes include an efficient HVAC system, adjustable mechanical or air-suspension seat, and larger, lower steps for easier entry and exit. Optional features like the LED lighting kit, premium radio with Bluetooth, and XM Satellite Radio compatibility enhance the operator’s experience. The Auto Ride control field kit further increases operator comfort by acting as a shock absorber, reducing spillage from the loader bucket.
Economy Mode for Fuel Efficiency
L-Series backhoes come standard with Economy mode, saving fuel in many applications. When activated, maximum engine RPM is limited in both loader and backhoe operations. A variable-speed electronically-controlled fan further aids in conserving power and fuel while reducing noise.
