E18ZS Features
Big versatility in a small package
Whether you’re the owner of a landscaping, plumbing, or electrical outfit, or a hobby farmer looking to make daily tasks a little easier, the E18ZS mini tracked excavator takes the sweat and backache out of jobs like digging footings and building foundations, demolition, trenching for plumbing and electrical, handling landscape materials or stock feed, and loading trucks and trailers.
Light enough to be trailered to job sites, contractors will have access to more jobs with niche requirements. With the quick connect auxiliary couplers and the manual quick coupler, changing attachments is quicker than ever with just one bolt and two pins. With this, your project will have minimal downtime.
Reach, dig, and lift more efficiently
Powered by a 14kW 3-cylinder Yanmar diesel engine and weighing in at just 1.8 tonnes for 29.4 kPa ground pressure, the zero-tail-swing design of the John Deere E18ZS Mini Excavator makes it ultra compact but capable, squeezing more work out of tight areas where you would normally need a shovel.
The E18ZS load-sensing hydraulic system efficiently manages power for multiple functions, delivering smooth machine control with less effort. Designed for high digging capacity, productivity, operating precision, and excellent fuel economy, with pilot-operated controls for boom, arm, bucket, swing, boom swing, blade, travel, and auxiliary functions.
An arm length of 940 mm provides for 18.7 kN tool force at the bucket, a maximum reach at ground level of 3848 mm, and maximum digging depth of 2326 mm. This mini machine has a rated stability-limited (telescopic travel gear extended) lift capacity of 410 kg at 1.0 m above ground level and 2.0 m from centreline of rotation, making light work of the most common landscaping and residential earthmoving jobs.
Move around the job site easily and safely
Two-speed travel (up to 4.5 kph) with automatic shifting provides faster transport speeds across large work areas. A variable-width undercarriage can be hydraulically retracted (990mm) to access tight spaces where handwork was once required, then easily extended (maximum 1300 mm) to provide a stable working platform. Added stability is delivered through the backfill blade and telescopic travel gear, 146kg counterweight, and load-sensing hydraulic system.
Operators will appreciate excellent vision all round from the comfortable open station, with the added safety of a full TOPS/FOPS canopy. Large hinged service-access doors allow wide-open, ground-level access to daily checkpoints, for fast service. Grease
fittings are also within easy reach, with vandal protection in place on service doors and fuel cap. Durable, tight-fitting steel bushings are easily interchangeable, minimising downtime.
Halogen work lights – two mounted on the operator’s station, one mounted on boom – provide additional visibility in low light conditions.
