It’s been one whole year since RDO Equipment landed in Australia, and took over as the official dealer for John Deere Construction and Forestry machinery in all states except WA. And what a year it’s been!
We’re all working in uncertain times at the moment, but we wanted to take the time to reflect on the past year. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved as a company for our customers, suppliers and employees, and the connections we’ve made with the wider industry since setting up in Australia. We’re also really excited about what is to come, for us and especially for our customers.
Landing down under
May 1st, 2019 saw our official launch at the Diesel, Dirt and Turf expo in Penrith, NSW. What a big couple of days! We showcased some of the construction machinery we brought to the country, introduced our team of sales and support staff to our new and existing customers, and met and mingled with media and industry colleagues.
Building our team
We talk a lot about how important it is to have the right team, and then to really value and look after that team. Throughout the past year we’ve been busy bringing on board an incredible group of people across all kinds of roles, to support our John Deere Construction and Forestry machines, and our existing and growing customer base. We’ve employed over 100 support staff, setup 12 branches and got more than 30 service vehicles on the road right across the country. And we’re not done yet!
I want to say a huge thank you to every single member of our team, for showing up for our customers, for working through any teething problems, for being committed and for being part of building the future of RDO in Australia.
Customers first
We love working hard and going above and beyond for our customers. One of our major achievements over the past year has been supplying a fleet of brand-new John Deere forestry machinery to one of Australia’s largest forestry contracting companies, Sunchip. Working together with John Deere, we provided a full-scope support package, including service and parts. This is just one partnership we’re incredibly proud of. We look forward to continuing to work with the Sunchip team, and doing the same for other customers in the months and years ahead.
A powerful partnership
We ended last year with one of our biggest achievements, coming together with Vanderfield and Vermeer Australia under the one banner – RDO Australia Group. We’re excited to work and collaborate with Vanderfield and Vermeer Australia to provide all our customers with a far-reaching dealer network for where and when you need them, a wide range of products and the quality service and support you can expect from our brands, across existing and new industries.
We’re looking forward to achieving big things together with Vanderfield and Vermeer, so keep an eye out!
Big things from our compact range
We started 2020 big, with the launch of our compact range of construction machinery This is our first launch under the new RDO Australia Group, with the machines available at both RDO Equipment and Vanderfield branches. Our customers right across our construction and agri sectors have welcomed the new range, and we’re excited to continue to show you how much these versatile machines can do for jobs big and small.
Looking ahead
It’s fair to say 2020 hasn’t been the year we all envisioned. Life looks different for all of us, but I am proud of the way RDO Equipment is continuing to support our customers, employees and suppliers.
